Matzah Monday!

George is still pondering the four questions after last night's Seder celebration. Does it look like some little boy's cheeks are stuffed with matzah balls? Not yet, but soon... We're counting the days to the six month mark when he will be able to finally get his hands on the good grub.

A thank you to MK and Alex for hosting the Seder.  And a thank you from George for introducing him to another furry little friend (Irma the cat)!

All Tomorrow's Party Over

Sadly we say bye-bye to Mike for the time being as he flies back to Seattle tomorrow.  George enjoyed having another Scandie in the hood; it puts a little more bada-lingen rather than bada-boom in Carroll Gardens.

Happiest Boys on the Block!

The  boys have learned how to soothe themselves and each other.  George has now slept four nights in the crib without too much fuss.  Last night he fell asleep at 9 and woke up at 7 this morning!  In the photo below, Fionn cleans Ernie while Ernie glares at the camera.  It's understandable that he prefers to not have his photograph taken while being bathed.

In The Swing of Things

This past weekend George finally got into the swing of things!  It all started at the playground when another mother bragged about her son's sleep schedule and how she utilized the "cry-out" crib method. George learned the new game: cry and go sleep.  Sunday night was the toughest (which really wasn't that bad), when he cried for an hour (or so) before he settled into a long sleep.  On Monday night, he only woke once, fed, and went back to sleep.  Last night, he slept the entire night without waking once!  The result: Mom and Dad got a straight eight and a happy, well-rested little G.  Now if we can only get his nap schedule in good form ....

On the books

Some may say that books are a dying art, but little G thinks they're killer. The kindle would have to be pretty tough to take the beating (and drooling) that his board books endure.

Baby Zombie Monday Morning

Hungry baby zombie wants to eat brains.  Too bad this victim doesn't have any on Monday morning for feasting on .... Check back later in the week, George!

Guitar hero heartbreaker

This little hat is just too much!  When walking about outside nearly every woman we passed commented on the cuteness.  Thanks for the sweet hand-me-downs, Phillip!

Playing ketchup...

It's been a while since the last update. Here are a few highlights from the last week...

Granddad was back in town and G managed to keep on top of things.  Somehow hoisting him up above our heads always cheers him up.  He especially enjoys looking down at me with a giant strand of drool looming dangerously close to my nose.
*****

George likes his baths now!  He has learned to slosh water over the sides of the tub with his hands and feet and feels that he is doing his part in keeping the kitchen counter sudsy clean.

*****

Happy boy, happy granddad.  It wasn't all smiles during the visit as we think more teething is taking place, but there sure were lots of giggles throughout the week.

George practiced chasing beasts whenever the opportunity (aka Fionn) presented itself.

Night Crawler?

We're pretty sure he's crawling, but not when we're watching ....
George got his next round of shots today, and he basically slept off the pain.  Good boy.  He now weighs in at 15 lbs, nearly twice his birth weight, and his length is 25 inches.  Also, he and the pediatrician arrived at a needed truce; he didn't pee on her (this time.)

Pearly whites

Little G is showing off his new teeth.  He's hoping the next one will be gold like mom's.  Baby wants bling!

Food for thought

Looks like G's learning to use his noodle.  We would be in trouble if he could move objects with his mind...  This little guy is sure to start chowing down on solid foods soon -- and he can't wait!

Game face on...

George and dad enjoyed the winter 2010 Olympic sport events over the past couple of weeks. Here are some highlights:

Canada defeats the US men's ice hockey
team for the gold in sudden death overtime.
***

Olympic athletes once again pretend to
chow down on official sponsor's Big Mac.
 ***

Who wears fancy pants?  The Norwegian
men's curling team.  G couldn't get enough!
***

Reports released that the Vancouver Olympic
villages were stocked with 100,000 condoms
(that's an average of 14 condoms per athlete).

A week flu by...

and no blog entries!  Sorry, but little G and mom were down with a stomach flu and dad was busy caring for all.  We passed the 4 month mark and have a check-up this Friday.  Stay tuned for baby stats...
